Google has bought startup Clever Sense, which will help the search giant actually recommend stuff to you before you search for it.
Clever Sense was designed to recommend restaurants, coffee shops, and night clubs , all based on artificial intelligence and previous data. It was built on an artificial intelligence platform built by a couple of Stanford grads.
As we noted last summer, Google's Larry Page is big on the idea of predictive search -- the idea of knowing what users might be looking for before they start looking. Clever Sense fits perfectly into that vision.
The Clever Sense team will be placed in Google's local services division, which is where Google is beefing up its Google Places effort, reports TechCrunch.
